The village of Pérouges is 40 km far from Lyon, in the department of Ain.

The medieval city of Pérouges was classified among the Most Beautiful Villages of France and currently is one of the most touristic places in the department. The village architecture is very typical for Middle Ages with buildings from XV and XVI centuries with pebble streets and church. Before becoming attractive for tourists, the city was practically abandoned – therefore did not carried the evolutions of modern urbanism. Buildings have solid stone construction which supported the village longevity.

Many famous movies have been filmed in Pérouges – e.g. “The Three Musketeers”.
